Cosmetic Dentistry is not just about making your teeth look fantastic, it is also about making you feel more confident in yourself and your appearance. This affects your social and employment interactions. The process of improving the aesthetics of your smile may include treatments which make changes to tooth alignment, size, position and colour.
When it comes to cosmetic dentistry, a lot of patients ask us how they can whiten and brighten their smile, fast! When supervised by your qualified dental practitioner, tooth whitening or “bleaching” is a quick, safe and effective procedure to brighten your smile and boost your confidence.
Tooth whitening involves applying a gel to the enamel surface of the teeth, that contains either hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide. The peroxide in teeth-whitening products dissolves the organic stains in the tooth commonly caused by diet and lifestyle factors such as smoking, coffee, tea, soft drink and red wine.
Tooth whitening may be done in the surgery (“in-office whitening”), or in the comfort of your home. Learn more...
Veneers, sometimes referred to as porcelain or dental veneers, are fine shells of tooth coloured material that is seamlessly bonded to the front of your teeth’s surface. They are beneficial for patients who display discoloured or stained teeth, chipped or broken teeth, worn down teeth, teeth with large gaps between them or that are uneven, strangely shaped or misaligned.
Veneers are not a good option if you have unhealthy teeth or gums, and you should seek the advice of our dental professionals to see if you are a good candidate for the treatment. Additionally this treatment may not be suitable if you frequently grind or clench your teeth, as this puts strain on the veneers and can cause them to crack or break of completely.
If you are not sure Veneers are right for you, or you have ongoing oral health issues, then discuss with us the options of crowns or composite bonding. Learn More...
Crowns & Bridges
Crowns and Bridges can be used to make cosmetic modifications to straighten or reshape teeth or to close spaces between teeth. They can also be used to fix broken, worn down or chipped teeth. Unlike Veneers and fillings, Crowns and Bridges provide a much longer lasting solution, and generally a much better aesthetic look too.
Unlike dentures or other removal prosthetics, crowns and bridges are not removable by anyone other than a dentist. If you wish to discuss this as an option for giving your mouth a better looking smile then please discuss this with your dentist. Learn more...
