Inexpensive Same-Day Restorations Are Here

AS OF 2025, OUR MILLING MACHINE IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE.

With CORiTEC, your Katoomba dentist can create crown-like restorations while you wait, using hybrid ceramic and our own in-house milling machine. These hybrid restorations are colour-matched to your teeth and always shaped to look natural in the mouth. Additionally, you’ll never need a temporary restoration while you wait for an outside lab to fabricate it.

The CORiTEC same-day restoration is superior in durability to composite restorations and can mimic the strength of natural teeth. And these restorations fall in the middle, filling the repair gap between full tooth crowns and composite fillings. Additionally, they are typically less expensive than traditional full ceramic crowns, which (in some cases) you may not need—in situations where a complete tooth crown may be a step too far.

The CORiTEC Same-Day Process

First, we identify the tooth in need of restoring. This can be a mildly damaged tooth, one that is deeply decayed, or one that has been treated with root canal therapy. The tooth is then prepared for the new restoration. Preparation may include removing old filling material or jagged tooth edges.

Next, your dentist takes digital impressions of the tooth needing treatment. We forward the results to our on-site software for the restoration design. From there, the specifications are forwarded to our on-site milling machine for fabrication and printing.

Your dentist then cements the restoration over the previously treated tooth, making all necessary adjustments.

After restoration placement, you’re free to enjoy your restored smile, laughing with confidence and enjoying your meals without worry.

Reasons You May Need a Same-Day Restoration in Katoomba

Dentists always strongly recommend restoring fractured or at-risk teeth. A fractured tooth is at-risk for further damage or infection, which could lead to tooth loss and costly complications. Additionally, we can prevent an at-risk tooth from ever needing advanced dental work or extraction.

At-risk teeth include those that are:

  • Deeply decayed
  • Broken below the gumline
  • Previously treated for infection

In most cases, we recommend a dental restoration following root canal therapy. This can be a dental crown or a CORiTEC hybrid. Remember, the CORiTEC is often enough to protect and restore the tooth, whereas a crown may be a step too far. And the CORiTEC is typically less expensive than the dental crown.

Your dentist will determine the best restoration for your unique case and always talk to you about the options.

Following restorative dentistry, we also provide tips for aftercare. Fortunately, most restorations, including our hybrids, require only brushing and flossing for daily upkeep.
