Katoomba Dental Centre

If my teeth look fine, do I still need to see the dentist?

Regular dental check-ups and teeth cleans with your Katoomba dentist are crucial to your long-term oral health.

Some conditions like emerging cavities and gingivitis do not always have symptoms. So, your regular check-up at the dental clinic can uncover these issues before they cost you time in the dental chair or lead to tooth loss.

At Katoomba Dental Centre, we customise your preventive check-up and teeth clean schedule based on your oral health profile. For example, if you are prone to cavities or are diagnosed with an oral health condition, we may recommend additional dental visits throughout the year.

However, most patients visit us yearly or every six months.

At these check-ups, your dentist examines your teeth and gums, takes x-rays when needed, provides an oral cancer screening, and shares any findings with you. Your teeth clean lowers your risks for preventable problems like cavities and gum disease.

It’s important to remember that some dental conditions don’t present with symptoms, and it is always better to treat an emerging issue than a problem that could cost you a tooth or require extensive care.

Is It Time for You to Visit Your Katoomba Dentist?

If it’s time for your next check-up and teeth clean, or if you have not been to the dentist in a while, we welcome your call. And don’t forget to ask about any current specials!

Currently during the Covid Pandemic we are continuing to see patients for all treatment under the recommendations from ADA NSW. Both vaccinated and non vaccinated are welcome to our practice for treatment, however, we provide a strict pre-screening process that applies to all patients. Any patient that is dispaying unusual symptoms related to COVID-19 or is suspected of having COVID-19 will not be able to be treated. If you have any questions, please call us.
